</script></div><p>Even though most people suffering from Fibromyalgia are in a lot of pain, exercise can be a good way to both relieve pain and increase your energy.&#160; This can make the difference between feeling tired and lethargic, and feeling full of energy.</p>
<p>Most people think that they have to exercise excessively to see any benefit, but the truth of the matter is that any consistent exercise routine can make a difference.&#160; The key is to start out slowly and then move on from there.</p>
<p>A good place to start is walking.&#160; The act of walking not only loosens the joints, but involves most of the muscles in the body, making it a valuable activity.&#160; Add that with the opportunity to get outside and away from your home, you end up with an exercise that not only makes you feel better physically, but also mentally as well.</p>
<p>Other types of exercises that work well include yoga, weight training (don’t overdo it on the size of the weights that you lift) and Tai Chi.&#160; The idea is to get blood and oxygen flowing through your body to increase your energy level and your fitness.&#160; The following is an example of a yoga pose specifically designed for Fibromyalgia patients:</p>
<div class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent" id="scid:5737277B-5D6D-4f48-ABFC-DD9C333F4C5D:79108975-555e-4dac-8469-1a285c44c993" style="padding-right: 0px; display: block; padding-left: 0px; float: none; padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px auto; width: 425px; padding-top: 0px">
<div id="f0a685c9-852b-4881-ae95-a7ae260d2b7d" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; display: inline;">
<div><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_auXHBrOQM&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" target="_new"><img src="http://www.fibromyalgiasolutions.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/videocd703bdd587f.jpg" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('f0a685c9-852b-4881-ae95-a7ae260d2b7d'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = &quot;&lt;div&gt;&lt;object width=\&quot;425\&quot; height=\&quot;355\&quot;&gt;&lt;param name=\&quot;movie\&quot; value=\&quot;http://www.youtube.com/v/o_auXHBrOQM&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;hl=en\&quot;&gt;&lt;\/param&gt;&lt;embed src=\&quot;http://www.youtube.com/v/o_auXHBrOQM&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;hl=en\&quot; type=\&quot;application/x-shockwave-flash\&quot; width=\&quot;425\&quot; height=\&quot;355\&quot;&gt;&lt;\/embed&gt;&lt;\/object&gt;&lt;\/div&gt;&quot;;" alt=""></a></div>
</div>
</div>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>Moderation is Key</p>
<p>Many people assume that their body will be able to perform at the same level as it did before they had Fibromyalgia syndrome and that is a poor assumption.&#160; Since your body is not as flexible and may be in a lot more pain than it has ever been, you need to make sure to take it easy.&#160; You don’t need to run a marathon or anything, but what is important is that you are making an effort to exercise each day.&#160; By taking the time each day (and only doing a little at a time) you are paving the road to living a more fulfilling life, free of all the pain associated with your condition.&#160; Heed the following tips when it comes to exercise and Fibromyalgia:</p>
<div class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent" id="scid:5737277B-5D6D-4f48-ABFC-DD9C333F4C5D:a4fbf0d6-954e-458e-b3b6-a362030c5f51" style="padding-right: 0px; display: block; padding-left: 0px; float: none; padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px auto; width: 425px; padding-top: 0px">

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One of the main symptoms of Fibromyalgia is chronic pain.&#160; Unfortunately, this pain can be so intense that it can make it difficult to live a normal life.&#160; Instead, you might find yourself overcome by the intensity of the pain that you are not able to do anything.</p>
<p>Thankfully, there are ways to cope with the pain.&#160; If the pain is not too severe, usually over the counter pain medications are used.&#160; Price wise they are relatively inexpensive, but depending on the severity of the pain, a person may need to consume a large quantity of those pills, which in turn makes the over the counter medication more expensive than prescription medication.</p>
<p>Prescription pain medication can be given to you from your doctor to relieve extreme pain.&#160; These can come in the form of pills, or pain relief injections made at the areas in the body in the most pain.&#160; These types of injections only provide temporary relief, and do not cure the underlying problem.</p>
<p>Another common method of treating the chronic pain is to get a better sleep at night.&#160; Typically, this can be quite a challenge for sufferers of Fibromyalgia, so usually a prescription sleep aid is given.&#160; Sleeping pills allow them to have a good night sleep and allows the body to repair muscle damage, which in turn reduces the pain felt during the day.</p>
<p>Antidepressants are also another medication commonly prescribed to Fibromyalgia patients.&#160; With their inability to have the same standard of life as they did before getting the syndrome, many people suffer some level of depression.&#160; By treating the underlying depression, many patients have seen some relief in terms of their symptoms.</p>
<p>There are also many other alternative medicine treatments that can be beneficial to someone suffering from the syndrome.&#160; Simple things as a trip to the Chiropractor, certain herbs (such as Ginseng and licorice), and vitamins supplements have been shown to have varying abilities to relieve Fibromyalgia pain.</p>
<p>Irrespective of the level of pain experienced by you from Fibromyalgia, there are ways to cope and relieve some of the pain that you are experiencing.&#160; From over the counter pain killers, to sleeping pills, there is help for you out there.&#160; Be sure to consult with your physician to learn what would work best for you and what you can do to enjoy some Fibromyalgia pain relief.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>While there has been a lot of studies in terms of the effects of diet on Fibromyalgia, there have not been a lot of concrete discoveries made.&#160; But there have been some findings that have been adopted as recommendations for a diet plan as outlined below.</p>
<p>Healthy Diet</p>
<p>It comes as no surprise that a healthy diet is recommended for those people suffering from Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS).&#160; It is recommended that patients follow a diet that is high in antioxidants and low in fat, which is typical advice from any nutritionist.&#160; Higher fat foods have been shown to increase fatigue in people suffering from FMS which in turn worsens the condition of the person.</p>
<p>Some other foods that have been recommended to avoid are red meats, refined carbohydrates and it is even suggested that avoiding gluten might help to relieve symptoms.&#160; Special care must also be taken in terms of consumption of chocolate, alcohol, and caffeinated beverages.&#160; In fact, if you can avoid them altogether, it is better for you.</p>
<p>It has also been shown that the sugar in carbonated beverages can cause memory loss and increased fatigue.&#160; Also, stay away from sugary treats, as they will also increase your fatigue as your body tries to cope with the increased sugar levels in the blood stream.</p>
<p>Tobacco is another substance that should be avoided.&#160; The increased toxins in the blood stream due to smoking only aggravate the FMS more and it is recommended that you don’t smoke if you have Fibromyalgia.&#160; But, if you do discover that you have FMS and you are a smoker, it is recommended that you don’t suddenly quit, but rather wean yourself off of cigarettes.&#160; That way, you don’t further shock your body and cause more damage.</p>
<p>High Protein Diet</p>
<p>A diet that is high in protein helps you to better cope with FMS.&#160; The protein helps to maintain muscle tissue and aids in the repair of the body, which in turn should decrease the intensity of chronic pain (should you be experiencing any).</p>
<p>Some examples of high protein, low fat foods include skinless chicken, turkey, fish, and egg whites.&#160; It is also important to consume a good quantity of milk provided that it is low fat or skim milk.</p>
<p>Preservatives</p>
<p>Preservatives are found in many foods and can cause aggravation of your Fibromyalgia symptoms.&#160; If you have the opportunity, avoid them whenever possible and make healthier choices such as fresh fruit and vegetables as well as organic food.</p>
<p>When you are looking to create a Fibromyalgia friendly diet, be sure to consult a doctor or nutritionist.&#160; They will be able to help you craft a diet that not only helps you stay healthy, but that is tailored for your needs and situation.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Just like many other known ailments, the treatment for each case of Fibromyalgia is different. This is because each person experiences the syndrome differently in terms of the symptoms and depending on their age, different treatments will be more suited for them.</p>
<p>Treating the Pain</p>
<p>There are many options for treatment of the pain associated with many cases of Fibromyalgia Syndrome depending on the severity of pain and age of the patient. The goal of such treatments is not necessarily to completely remove the pain, but to allow the patient to live a functional lifestyle without all the pain and discomfort caused by their condition.</p>
<p>For mild cases of pain, commonly available, over-the-counter pain medication is typically used. When possible, other techniques can be applied, such as brain mapping, to determine the exact locations affected by the pain. By determining these locations, stronger pain killers may be used to target severe pain otherwise unaffected by over-the-counter medication.</p>
<p>Mental Treatments</p>
<p>There are other, non-drug related therapies to relieve pain caused by Fibromyalgia syndrome. Some examples would include psycho therapy and sleep therapy.</p>
<p>Psycho therapy is used mainly to reduce the stress levels of the patient to relieve or reduce the symptoms of the syndrome. The goal of psycho therapy is to introduce the patient to better ways to cope with stress as well as changing their belief systems with respect to stress. Typically, this treatment spans a number of sessions with a psychologist and can not only treat the causes of Fibromyalgia, but can also reduce the resulting depression it causes.</p>
<p>Sleep therapy is another treatment method that is used. The goal of this treatment method is to facilitate a deeper sleep for patients on a consistent basis to promote muscle repair. Often, sleeping pills are used with varying degrees of success.</p>
<p>Other Treatment Methods</p>
<p>Quite often when other treatment methods have failed, people suffering from Fibromyalgia Syndrome look for alternative treatments in the form of alternative methods. Some examples are visiting a chiropractor, hypnosis, and acupuncture. These methods do not cure the condition, but help to make life more livable by reducing the pain.</p>
<p>Though there are many methods of relieving the pain caused by Fibromyalgia, these methods are not necessarily for everyone or even for you. Be sure to consult a professional before engaging in any of these treatment methods to ensure that you will be doing what is best for you and your situation.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Over six million Americans are know to be affected by the Fibromyalgia Syndrome, though it it known that there are many unreported cases. Since it is hard to accurately diagnose someone with Fibromyalgia, many times, patients are diagnosed as having something other than Fibromyalgia Syndrome.</p>
<p>The most common symptoms are chronic pain that affect the daily lives of those affected. It is also common to find people suffering from the syndrome to have chronic fatigue as well. No one is immune to Fibromyalgia and it is most commonly found in women between the ages of twenty and forty, though men have also been diagnosed as well.</p>
<p>One of the main characteristics to notice is that Fibromyalgia is a syndrome and not a disease. This means that this condition can develop over time and does so irrespective of your family history. It continues to be mis-diagnosed to this day as many of the symptoms are mistaken by doctors as indication of other conditions.</p>
<p>Part of the reason that doctors have such a hard time diagnosing cases of Fibromyalgia Syndrome properly is that there is still some uncertainty regarding how the condition develops and whether or not there is any genetic link. Though there has been some success in terms of finding some evidence that certain families are more prone to Fibromyalgia, there has not been any concrete evidence found up to this point.</p>
<p>There are many different theories as to how the condition develops. One example of such theories would include such things as sleep disorders turning into the syndrome due to the body’s inability to repair itself properly during sleep. This turns into chronic muscle pain and results in further lack of sleep, eventually resulting in Fibromyalgia.</p>
<p>There has also been some evidence that immune system weakness due to illness can cause conditions leading up to Fibromyalgia. Due to the weakness in the immune system, muscle repair isn’t able to be performed correctly, again resulting in chronic pain, and then the syndrome.</p>
<p>Detection of the syndrome is mainly performed by analyzing patient response to a series of questions. This involves the survey of 18 tender points and the analysis of chronic pain in four quadrants of the body. Unfortunately, these methods of detection are not always accurate and therefore, the doctor has to make an educated guess.</p>

This syndrome affects millions of people worldwide and is often misdiagnosed.</p>
<p>Some of the more common symptoms are chronic pain (for no reason), sleeping problems, and being tired all the time.&#160; If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, it would be advisable to talk to your doctor.</p>
<p>Though the symptoms of Fibromyalgia disrupt most people’s lives, it is still possible to live a full life if proper treatment is followed.&#160; Depending on the severity of the condition, simple pain killers (such as aspirin) may be sufficient to allow you to live a normal life.</p>
<p>But if the pain or fatigue is severe, other methods may be necessary.&#160; Stronger pain killers, sleeping pills or psychiatric treatment may help and would be administered according to your needs.</p>
<p>Diet can also affect the severity of the syndrome.&#160; Proper and healthy eating habits are a must and there are certain foods that should be avoided altogether.</p>
<p>Chances are you have also heard of a relation between stress and Fibromyalgia.&#160; There is some evidence to suggest that excessive stress can cause one to develop this syndrome and we look into that in detail.</p>
<p>Here at Fibromyalgia Solutions, we provide you with all the information that you ever wanted to know about Fibromyalgia such as the common symptoms and treatments.&#160; Also, we look at ways that you can live a normal and fulfilling life even though you might suffer from this syndrome.</p>
<p>So browse through our site, and learn everything that you need to know about the Fibromyalgia Syndrome. <!--noadsense--></p>
